What I really Eat 2.9.2018

Plain Yogurt with 1/2 a Banana, frozen Blueberries & Pyure liquid for sweetener

A week at our house is somewhat unpredictable.  Our schedule is never the same from week to week.

Eggs & Veggies

This is how I would like to say we eat all the time, with Trim Healthy Mamma as our guide.  But since I'm not worried about weight or health issues we only eat pure thm a couple times a week.

Pros

  • I love the way I feel.  My body loves it.
  • It gives variety to my cooking.
  • The kids like it.
  • Your eating healthy.
  • Smoked Pork Loin & Parmesan Green Beans
  • No guilt!

Cons

  • My husband don't enjoy all the food.
  • I find it more expensive.
  • Fresh food doesn't stay fresh very long.
  • Takes extra time to plan.

Bottom line if someone could take all my likes and dislikes and cook thm for me! I would eat it all the time! Lol

Homemade Chocolate Pie
I enjoy cooking!   But baking is wayy more enjoyable!  :)  I love the taste testing part of baking and its hard to do that when your cooking.  I mean who eats half cooked meat!!??
Homemade Coconut Cream Pie

My husband loves deserts!  He hardly ever buys candy from the store, but if he could he would have desert every night!  My sweet tooth is strong!  He don't even have to convince me to make him something.  Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies are another favorite of ours.

Home Update 2.9.2018

We still have a few boxes to unpack.  Energy, motivation and room are lacking here.  I need to buy some organizational baskets to store the rest of our "junk"!

Peter put a few pictures on the wall for me.  The kids got new comforters with Christmas money.

New Year's Goals 2.6.2018

Spiritual
  • Better Devotional life
  • Closer to my God
I intend on making my time with God more meaningful.

Daily

  • Get dressed every morning
  • Eat all leftovers!  (No more throwing out money/food)
Be more purposeful in my homemaking skills (cooking & cleaning)

Hubby & Kids
  • I want to listen more when my Husband talks
  • Giving more attention to my kids as well.
Communication times 100! More activities and less screen time aka "Thomas and Friends".  Also less Social Media for me.

I have kept this short because as a Wife and Mom a list a mile long is simply impossible.  Also when you get you priorities right, a lot of things will fall into place all on their own.

Getting to Know Us/Me: Some Food Facts 2.2.2018

Just some random food facts...
Meat:  Most of our meat comes from Peter's hunting and the local taxidermist.  We get fresh deer, elk, duck/geese and sometimes bear.  Although our meat is technically "free", we do all the work!
Peter and I with some of his family, cutting, grinding and freezing an Elk
Some of our chicken we get from a local organic farm.  They sell whole chickens very cheap (It's like half the price it would be in Texas)!  I do keep Costco's frozen chicken breast on hand and I die every time I have to purchase a new bag. :(   We have split a whole pig with a friend and might buy a butchered cow in the future.  With our location organic meat is easier to get and so much cheaper than where I grew up.  I still buy a local peppered (thick) bacon (so amazing :)), ground turkey and turkey ham/sausage.
Vegetables and fruit:  In the summer time we try to buy 20 lbs or so of Flathead cherries.  Another local perk!  We freeze a good many bags and save them for things like homemade pie.  Peter's family has been in Montana for over 20 years now and many people know if they have extra the Metzgers will take them!  It's so nice and crazy to have apples or potatoes coming out of your ears. Lol  I do buy most of my produce from Walmart or Costco.
Milk:  We could handle a cow or two with all that we go thru.  I buy 8 gallons of milk every single week! :0  Yeah I know, CRAZY!!  I have to budget a little over $20 for milk, thanks to Peter and my 3 kids!  We even had to rearrange the refrigerator shelves to made a place for all our milk.  Some families have a coffee addiction, we have a milk addiction! Haha
Everything else: Costco, Walmart and Walmart.com are my favorite grocery stores.  We don't have a grocery pick-up with our Walmart.  But I can buy diapers and other non-perishables and have them shipped to my door for free.
Hope you enjoyed this random food post.  I plan on doing one about my Trim Healthy Mamma experience and the not so THM daily stuff.  What's your favorite place for buying groceries?

Just Stop 2.1.2018

Sometimes you just need to stop.  Especially, when your kids ask you to read them a book.  Jonathan said, "Come sleep with us Mommy and read a book!"  Elizabeth, "Yeah, Mommy come sleep with us!"  So, we read about a bunny and all the four seasons. :)
